The NVL Method
How does the NVL method work?
The NVL Method opens the door to understanding an individual's non-verbal communication strategies based on the analysis of the following:
The NVL method is rooted in humanistic psychology and is based on the concept that the unconscious manifests itself through body language. The method was created by Barry A. Goodfield, Ph.D. as a result of his 40+ years experience in the field as a psychotherapist.
Through NVL, you will learn how to read non-verbal facial cues and begin to recognize consistent and repetitive movements on the face. These individual patterns are used to identify the Communication Personality and engagement strategies of any person you interact with.

Identification of any Communication Personality will then reveal leadership traits, preferences and dislikes, and predictable reactions of those you work with.
Emotions – although an individual may not realize the emotion they are experiencing before it appears on their face, the person reading the expression can recognize their true feelings.
Truth Indicators – we investigate the relationship between the non-verbal message and the verbal message. Is it consistent or contradicting?
Individual Patterns (foundation of the FaceValue Method) – the pattern of facial cues or the movements on the face and the corresponding typology.
Once you have learned how to recognize your own Communication Personality and the Communication Personalities of those around you, you will gain insight into the following:
how individuals prefer to communicate and process information

their comfort level in any given environment

their engagement styles in team settings

the conflicts that may potentially arise between different communication styles
